National Programme for Specially Supported Territories
Currently the financing of projects in the National Programme "Development of Entrepreneurship in Specially Supported Territories" is continued.
Project acceptance in the National Programme "Development of Entrepreneurship in Specially Supported Territories" was discontinued in the spring of 2004.
Projects were submitted requesting funding for repaying loan interest and for local municipality investments in the development of business infrastructure. The maximum annual support sum for reimbursing credit interest on one project is 15 000 lats. The project funding can be granted for a maximum of 5 years. The maximum annual support sum to local municipalities for improving the business infrastructure is 10 000 lats.
In 2004, 107 contracts for reimbursing credit interest, 9 infrastructure co-financing contracts and 8 contracts for co-financing in order to promote entrepreneurship were concluded within the framework of the National Programme "Development of Entrepreneurship in Specially Supported Territories", and the funding of 583 contracts for projects started in the preceding years was continued.
In 2005, the Regional Fund financed 474 projects, 398 new jobs and 56 seasonal jobs were created, and 1 701 jobs were maintained. In 2005, 489 projects totaling 1 093 624, 23 lats were financed.
