In the EU fund programming period of 2007-2013, since 2008 the SRDA has been acting as a liaison body for two activities financed by the EU Social Fund:
- "Specialist recruiting for the planning regions, cities and amalgamated local municipalities";
- "Enhancing the administrative capacity and the capacity of development planning in regions and local municipalities".
In accordance with the MRDLG delegation of authority to the SRDA, the latter ensures the acceptance of applications for the EU funds, their evaluation, decision making, conclusion of agreements, survey of the project progress, verification of the requests for the funds, the payments, preparation of the declarations of expenditure and the monitoring and control of project implementation.
